I Love Newquay! Me and round a dozen of my friends come from Oldham every summer and spend a week camping, and I just wanted to say that I/we LOVE it! Newquay's beautiful and the people, local and tourists alike are stellar! We've been going to the same site for three years and will be doing the same for aslong as we can. Give Locals A Chance! I just want to say that people buying second homes in Newquay and indeed Cornwall should be made to pay an inflated community charge for their property. The reason for this is that they are outpricing the local people. The basic wage for local people in Newquay is about 14,000 so how on earth can anyone local buy a property here and then outsiders come in and buy up everything in site and only serve to push to prices up further. I think it is immoral and should be stopped. So all you people out there who are buying up property to increase your wealth beware it will not be tolerated much longer the peasants will revolt eventually!! Posted by Claudette

Wave Rage In responce to your recent story on 'wave rage' posted in your news section, I would just like to say that Im a local surfer and have no idea what all this is about! I would like to express that us 'locals' have no problem with 'tourists' or anyone else in the water on the waves. We are all there for the same reason, so a message for anyone from up country wanting to come and surf Fistral or any other beach in Cornwall... Sewage Prombelms At Fistral Beach Hello Newquay! We came down to Newquay in the summer for a week and had a great time. As most people do when they visit Newquay, we thought we would try our hand at surfing. We headed to Fistral Beach but were discusted to see a huge line of sewage floating around in the sea! Isnt Fistral promoted as one of Eurpoe's finest surfing beaches? I think this is definatly something the council should look into. Newquay Coppers I just need to say how cool I think the Newquay Police are! We came down in September for a stag weekend and boys being boys decided it would be great to streak down the high street. 10 naked blokes ran straight into three Newquay coppers who actually saw the funny side of things (although we did have to put our clothes back on.. wasnt a bad thing coz it was quite cold and my mates were taking the piss a bit) .
